Tom Winfree
Tom Winfree was born in Lebanon TN, and is one of eight children. Tom is a graduate of Lebanon High School 1969 and earned a football scholarship to Middle Tennessee State University, Graduate 1974 B.S. Physical Education. Tom was asked to stay on scholarship at M.T.S.U, as a Graduate Assistant Football Coach, 74-75 and work on his Masters Degree in Education Administration. Tom is a member of Varsity "T" Club as a 3 yr, Letterman. 2 of his 4 children have gone on to graduate from M.T.S.U, as well. In the 76- 77 school yr, Tom went back to Lebanon High School where he was a Teacher and Football Coach. He was asked to coach boys and girls Freshman Basketball and Varsity Track. In 1980 Tom started a career in Insurance and started his own Agency in 1986. Since 1980 Tom has worked in the Education Market, with School Districts and Universities, all over the Southeast. Tom started National Educators Benefit Alliance after 27 yrs of working with Educators. Tom has one goal and that is to deliver the best Benefits and Service available in the country by Administering Flexible Spending Accounts (Section 125 I.R.S. code) in Tennessee, and eventually nationwide, by being the first company to use "Call Center Enrollments".
Mike Rutledge
Mike Rutledge is a 1980 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. degree in Marketing and Management. Mike played on the golf team and was a member and resident of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He has been in the insurance business for 27 years with the last 19 years specializing in group/supplemental benefits and Section 125 Cafeteria Plan Administration. Mike lives in Cookeville, Tennessee with his wife, Stephanie, who is the Clinical Trials Coordinator at the Cancer Center of Cookeville Regional Medical Center and his eleven year old twin girls, Grace and Kayla.
Mike Hassell
Mike Hassell was born in Humbolt TN and graduated from Cocoa High School in 1962. Mike studied business administration at Brevard Jr. College in Florida. In 1977, Mike began his career in Insurance and created his own agency in 1980 focusing on the Life and Health Insurance market. Mike held the position of Vice President of Marketing for a large insurance company in 1990. Mike was instrumental in the development of several private label products and these products were marketed in 29 states. Products included:
- Chamber Benefit Life marketed through the Chambers of Commerce in all states.
- Chamber Card - A discount medical card sold only over the Internet.
- Med-Flex medical plan (2-99 lives) marketed in 29 states.
Ronnie Hines
Ronnie Hines is a lifelong resident of Middle Tennessee. He attended public schools in Maury County and later graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a major in business administration and an emphasis on accounting and marketing. He later returned to MTSU where he earned a M.Ed. in Educational Counseling as well as a M.Ed. +45 in Educational Administration. Ronnie has had a successful career in education in Maury County, having served as a math teacher and counselor at the middle school level, a K- 12 principal, a K-6 principal, and a 9-12 principal at the second largest high school in Maury County. He then was called to duty as the Federal Programs Supervisor and spent the last four years of his education career as the Deputy Director of Schools/Supervisor of Teaching and Learning for the Maury County School System. Ronnie retired from education after thirty-three years of service. Ronnie then began a career in the field of real estate where, after two years, he has earned the distinction of being one of the top salespersons in an office of 100 real estate agents. Ronnie is enthusiastic about the opportunity to establish a company that will provide voluntary benefits in a pre-tax environment to the educational staff of school systems throughout the state. As a former educator, he believes the most significant aspect is that this program will be conducted through the utilization of an in-bound call center, never intruding upon the instructional time of the staff and never having a salesperson visit the school campus.
Rex Shepherd
Rex Shepherd is currently Vice-President of Benefits Payroll Services which is a worksite marketing company based in Cookeville, Tennessee which specializes in group enrollments.
Rex has twenty-three years (23) in the insurance industry working strictly with school districts throughout the southeastern part of the United States.
Rex has the unique capability of being able to work directly with Teacher Associations, Directors of Schools, Human Resource Departments, Payroll Departments as well as knowing not only what they want but knowing what areas they are in need. This insight has made it easier for him to become a part of the National Educators Benefits Alliance.
Rex thinks within the short future that all school districts will be relying on this particular type of enrollment for their voluntary benefits throughout the U.S.
